PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION
There are several routes to reach Garden Hostel according to Google Maps, but trust us—Google isn’t always the smartest. In our residential area, it often misses pedestrian paths and miscalculates time and directions. To ensure you take the best route, we recommend following our directions:
Wherever you are in Budapest, look for Metro Line 4 and take it to Kelenföld.
You can see the station names in the photo below, but if you’re in central Budapest, you’re most likely closest to either Kálvin tér or Fővám tér.
The Fővám tér station is located right at the green bridge (Liberty Bridge) on the Pest side, but the metro also stops on both sides of the bridge—on the Buda side, the station is called Szent Gellért tér.

Once you arrive at Kelenföld Metro station, follow this route:

(The route starts from Exit D)

One metro ride costs 450 HUF (about 1 EUR), or you can get a pass for a longer period. For ticket details, click here.
BIKE SHARING SYSTEM
The BUBI bike-sharing system is highly recommended! A one-month subscription costs just 1,500 HUF (less than 4 EUR) and includes unlimited 30-minute rides. You can take a bike for up to 29 minutes, return it, and rent again as many times as you like per day.
For less than 4 EUR, you can cover all your trips in Budapest using the bike-sharing system.
For more information, visit this website. To use the system, simply download the app.
BY CAR
Of course, many of you are traveling by car and arriving in Budapest from other destinations you’ve visited during your trip.
For those arriving by car, we don’t have specific recommendations (other than advising you to avoid using your car once in the city), but we do have some helpful information to share.
Our street is a residential and recreational area, so only guests are allowed to drive in. You can park for free as long as you’re staying with us, but please make sure to park directly in front of our house, not in front of any other houses in the area.
