Budapest Garden Hostel, opened in 2019 is a typical backpackers Hostel where you can spend time with fellow travellers in a relaxed enviroment surrounded by trees, but still close to the buzzing life of the center.
We love to be at Budapest Garden Hostel, and especially we love the Garden! Its not a question that it’s our favourite place to be in the summer.

We organise food & wine parties, cooking classes, bike tours, walking tours, cultural events, and so on!
But we are just as much a relaxed House in a green area, where you can work, or chill in the Garden and sleep well through the nights, while you have the chance to connect to other travelers!
The Hood
We are located in district 11 of Budapest on the Buda side, in one of the nicest, greenest residential area of the city. Howewer the average tourists knows Pest side a bit more (mostly since the Party District is located there), district 11 has its own spots and buzzing lifestyle including the famous Bartók Béla Boulevard, what has been listed as one of the coolest neighborhood all over the world by Time Out magazine in 2019, just in the year we decided to move there. So we kind of felt or caught something 🙂

What transportation to use?
We are just a few minutes walk from Kelenföld Metro / Train / Bus station, which is the main transportation point to remember.
From Kelenföld Metro station the center of Buda is accessible in 5 minutes, the center of Pest in only 10 minutes.
The metro 4 you are taking from Kelenföld station is not only a form of transportation but an awesome psychedelic trip:

The metro is running till 23:30, after you have a night bus system, but we have a widespread public bicycle and of course electric scooter sharing system as well. Renting a bicycle is only few euros, and gives you a free access for 30 minutes unlimited times. (Meaning at 25 minutes you can finish your journey, and ‘rent’ the same bicycle 1 minute later again for another 29 minutes)
If you are taking a train/bus from or to the direction of Vienna/Prague or the Croatian coast, you are most likely to arrive or depart at Kelenföld station as well, and the same applies if you are thinking on going to Balaton or Velencei lake.
We are the closest Budapest Hostel to Balaton or Velencei lake (the most popular Hungarian lakes for summertime)
